Description
Neuroma Pads 4 Pack
A neuroma pad is used for a variety of foot problems like pain in the ball of the feet, neuromas, calluses, IPK’s, painful scars, and lack of a plantar fat pad. Neuroma pads splay and offload the metatarsal heads in the ball of the foot. This reduces pressure across the ball of the foot and on the nerves between the metatarsal heads. The skived neuroma pads have a little less bulk making them better tolerated, the non-skived cut offers a little more effect. Proper placement of the pad is critical to achieve therapeutic relief from any of the above conditions. Neuroma pads can be placed on the insole, under the insole, or on the foot. As a podiatrist, I prefer to incorporate them into an orthotic or apply metatarsal pads under the insole of a shoe.
Note from the Podiatrist on Neuroma Pads:
Neuroma pads should be placed directly behind the metatarsal heads. This insures proper offloading and splay in the metatarsal region. Placing the Neuroma pad on the bottom surface of the shoe’s insole will improve the life of the pad. The metatarsal pads should be located so it fits the exact area as indicated in the picture below.
Warning: Individuals with numbness, burning, tingling, diabetes, or poor sensation should consult their podiatrist before use. These conditions make individuals higher risk than others. Anyone with the above conditions, should be very careful when using anything on their feet. If you notice redness, wounds, sticking socks, foul smells, swelling, hot spots, or drainage then seek medical attention immediately.
